Kayte Nickelson

Born in St. Joseph, Missouri and residing in various places in Missouri, Kansas, New York, Florida and Georgia, Kayte returned to, once again, live in St. Louis. Having education and experience in entertainment and Public Relations, Advertising Design, Commercial Art and Graphic Design, Kayte has had an interest in various alternative medicine venues, becoming attuned into Reiki in the ‘80’s. As an infant of three months, she battled the Polio fever epidemic and with a family history of Diabetes became involved with The Native American Women’s Care Circle, a voluntary service organization whose many areas of focus include Diabetes. Kayte has since been an invitational speaker on those subjects.

In association with the NAWCC, Kayte became a Certified Diabetic Foot Care Technician with Neuro Care in 2004. It was her fortune to have the opportunity to meet and receive sessions from Paula Stone (owner and founder of Soft Touch Massage & Reflexology and The Stone Institute) who expanded her interest in CAM therapies. Eventually, with the gracious special permission of Dwight Byers of The International Institute of Reflexology, Ms Stone (a former graduate of that program) instructed Kayte in the Eunice Ingham Method of Reflexology. She continued her training and became Certified in both Reflexology (210-hour program in August 2006) and Therapeutic Reflexology (170-hour program in Feb 2007) at The Stone Institute, where she is in the process of being certified as an Instructor. She completed Emotional & Internal Aromatic Touch Training in 2006.

Kayte is currently working with various Certified Reflexologists to establish a professional Missouri organization, lending her skills, along with Ms Stone, to establish Public Relations and Communications Standards. Her business, Sweet Medicine Village has excelled in carpal tunnel syndrome, plantar faciitis and diabetic needs therapies, among others, and Sweet Medicine Reflexology is slated to become Sweet Medicine Massage and Reflexology within the next two years.
